Moshito received 116 demo recordings. From and following a filtering process, 20 artists/groups performed at the showcase, and in front of judges:

The Cocktail Party was open to all delegates. There were two live performances by female artists, Demaj and Izintombi Zesimanjemanje.

The MEC of Gauteng Sport, Arts, Recreation, and Culture hosted the VIP dinner and the event proved a good networking session among decision makers and welcomed international guests.  

The Fringe @ Moshito

Daily activities in different areas of the venue

The Fringe @ Moshito was a new aspect to Moshito Conference and Exhibition and was well received by delegates and the public.   The following fringe activities took place

·         A photographic exhibition of SA women artists –on plasma screens in the foyer throughout Moshito 07
·         African music documentaries and films in the Museum Auditorium
·         Moshito DigiHub – Ongoing exhibition and interactive digital space in exhibition area
·         An Autograph Session by Jonathan Shaw – Author of “The South African Music Business” on Thursday 23 Aug 07

Joy of Jazz welcomed Moshito delegates to gain access to the JOJ Precinct, allowing delegates to attend all non-paying events, i.e. Kippie’s, Nikki’s Oasys, Sophiatown on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 August.

In addition, Moshito 07 saw the introduction of public access on the Friday afternoon and Saturday, where youth and families attended information session, film screenings and interactive digital media in the exhibition area.
